The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between moral intelligence and academic self-efficacy with the mediation of academic engagement of students in Mahabad city. The method of descriptive-survey research was of the correlation type and the statistical population was all 2831 secondary school female students of Mahabad city, of which 338 were selected by cluster sampling using Morgan's table. Data collection tools were standardized questionnaires of moral intelligence of Lenik and Hill (2005), academic self-efficacy of Jinks and Morgan (1999) and academic engagement of Fridix et al. (2006). The results of hypothesis testing were analyzed by spss and pls software and using correlation tests and structural equation modeling. The results showed that moral intelligence has a positive and significant relationship on academic self-efficacy with the mediation of academic conflict (0.31). Also, the results indicated that there is a positive and significant relationship between moral intelligence and academic self-efficacy components (0.52). The relationship between moral intelligence and academic engagement components was positive and significant (0.76) and finally, academic engagement has a positive and significant relationship with academic self-efficacy (0.41). Therefore, by increasing moral intelligence and consequently increasing academic engagement, it is possible to provide the basis for increasing academic self-efficacy in secondary school female students of Mahabad city.

Background: The use of chemicals in academic laboratories is a major concern for the health and safety of individuals and the environment. Academic institutions are currently developing safe work procedures to ensure compliance with standard criteria and laboratory accreditation. However, it is unclear to what extent the activities of research laboratories are safe for the personnel and environment. Therefore, this research produces a chemical hazard assessment assembling data and knowledge on the health, safety, and environmental aspects of chemical applications in laboratories. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in 2021 in five research and teaching laboratories. The collecting data tool was a checklist, developed in 7 sections with 125 items and completed in all laboratories understudy. Then, the research team conducted a risk assessment for the 10 most widely used chemicals in the laboratories. In the end, the risk categorization was conducted based on the risk matrix of ISO 31000. Results: Determining risk levels associated with using chemicals may provide a reasonable way to assess hazards and suggest controls for working in laboratories. Most non-compliance hazards were linked to inadequate waste disposal processes, the potential for poisoning and illness effects, and emergency actions. Conclusion: It is suggested to conduct knowledge, attitude, and practice studies of the students, staff, and faculties to provide appropriate level of training courses in the academic laboratories.

Introduction: A common procedure in esthetic dentistry is fabrication of metal-ceramic veneer crowns that have proper color match with the patient’s teeth. The aim of this study was to compare color reproduction of the selected color by dental practitioners in dental laboratories by technicians with and without academic education.Materials and Methods: In this in vitro study a maxillary incisor from a dental model was prepared for a metal-ceramic veneer crown. After impression taking and making a standard framework, 36 impressions were taken for 36 laboratories and two standard metal frameworks were fabricated on each die. Two frameworks were sent to each laboratory. A3 porcelain was requested to be placed on the standard frameworks and glazed. Each specimen was tested with Shadepilot equipment. a*, b* and L* color indexes andD E were determined at incisal, middle and cervical areas of each crown. Ttest and linear regression were used for data analysis (a=0.05).Results: Means and standard deviations of D E of samples in the group without academic education at incisal, middle, and cervical areas were 3.56±1.93, 2.54±2.40, and in 3.0±1.16, respectively; corresponding values in the group with academic education were 5.6±3.19, 2.11±1.02, and 21.18±0.72, respectively. T-test showed significant differences inD E of incisal areas between the two groups (p value=0.003), with no significant differences in other areas.Conclusion: In this study, there was a significant relationship between job experience and color match accuracy in the incisal region, indicating that technicians with more job, but with no academic education, exhibit more accuracy in reconstructing incisal edge color of metal-ceramic veneer crowns.
